That's How I Got to Memphis

In a week and a half I'll be on the road to Memphis. Kristen, Ben and I will be headed up there the last Sunday in March for the lectureship at the school from which I graduated. I really need this break. I'm excited to be preached to (yes, there is a big difference in preaching a sermon and hearing a sermon) as well as see all of my friends.

It will be an interesting week too. We're going to be staying in a hotel room for the week which really doesn't sound like that big of an ordeal. The thing is, it won't just be the three of us. In the midst of our own personal housing crisis, that is our looking for a place to stay for the week, Justin and Micah Paschall stepped up and decided to allow us shelter with them. I got to talk to Justin today, and I don't think I'd really talked to him since he was still at MSOP which was a good three years ago, about it all and it should prove to be a...fun...week. They have a child also, their 7-month old daughter, Reagan. Ben already has a few future wives to pick from, but I see no harm in giving him one more choice in the future. So far our travels have proved that Ben doesn't do well sleeping in a room with other Kristen or me, so throwing in two other people and a cute little kid for him to flirt with probably won't help.

I suppose that's what Lectureship is about anyway. I've always enjoyed the preaching, but I've enjoyed the fellowship more than anything. Staying up late and getting to know each other and getting caught up on all that's happened since school doesn't sound too bad to me at all.

Love you all,
Carl

  1. At least we're not the ones who have to put up with the cranky boy during the day if he doesn't get sleep! I recommend ear plugs for the four adults!

  2. It is yet to be seen if Ben is good enough for Reagan yet! Although, as long as he takes after Kristen he should be. ;) Don't worry about me folks, I've been known to sleep through tornadoes...litterally. Justin's the light sleeper. :)

  3. I'm the heavy sleeper here. I always just assumed that Ben slept through the night as he never woke me up.
